Clayton Wesley Uniting Church
A Spiritual Home serving the Norwood community since 1856
We are the people of Clayton-Wesley, a progressive and historical Uniting Church in the inner eastern suburbs of Adelaide. The church stands prominently at the intersection of The Parade and Portrush Road, Beulah Park, and this building been a significant part of the Norwood landscape since 1882. The beautiful sanctuary has been one of the most sought after venues for weddings in Adelaide for more than 100 years.
A Spiritual Home …
You may be looking for a spiritual home, a place to reflect on your life, receive encouragement and support in following the way of Jesus. You may be seeking other Christians who are following the teachings of Jesus in ways that speak to our challenging, diverse, and evolving human experience and spirituality. Welcome!
Our Sunday Worship at 10 am is a blend of traditional and contemporary expressions of what it means to honour a God of compassion, truth, and justice, and to follow the way of Jesus.
Solace is our contemporary Christian Contemplation program: times set aside each Wednesday at 7:45 - 8:30 am, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm and 6:00 – 7:00 pm, providing opportunities for meditation, prayer, or just time out.
…serving the Community
You may have goods to donate to Goodies, our Op Shop, or you may be a bargain hunter or someone wanting to help as a volunteer.
You may be looking for a very affordable, home-cooked meal, on Fridays at Café Spire, or need Weight Watchers or some fellowship with people like yourself.
You may be a history buff and enjoy our heritage buildings and grounds (over 150 years old) with the Spire, a classic pipe organ and historic cemetery.
You may need emergency help with food or counselling that is available from UnitingCare Adelaide East, who share the site with us, offering assistance for those whose lives are in transition.
Young families connect with our Friday Playgroup, and also with Norwood Community Creche, which operates here the other four days a week, an integral and vibrant part of the weekly life of Clayton Wesley.
You may need to hire space for your group's activities.
In any or all of these, the ministers and volunteers at Clayton Wesley want to be of service to you. For one hundred and fifty years we have been at the head of The Parade, sharing friendship, worship and care.
Come and experience it for yourself.
